Adams County Humane Society Volunteer Program Application

    Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Adams County Humane Society! All potential volunteers must submit a completed application and attend an orientation. Questions: 608-399-6700 or [email protected]
    ​All volunteers must be 13 years of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent co-sign the Volunteer Waiver of Liability that is attached to the volunteer application.  If you are 16+ years you may volunteer without an adult present.  If you are 13 - 15 years old you MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times at the shelter or at events held at other locations.  
    + Answering “yes” will not automatically disqualify you from volunteering with our organization. +
    ​SCHEDULING & AVAILABILITY- Please check the days & times of the week you are available to volunteer. 
    ​.Most ACHS volunteer positions require a minimum six-month time commitment. Are you able to commit to at least six months?  
    Depending on your position shifts are usually scheduled between 1-4 hours, however this commitment can be flexible.
    ​Would you be willing to commit to a regular schedule?

    ​In consideration of the Adams County Humane Society accepting my application for participation in the Volunteer Program, I agree to release and hold harmless the Adams County Humane Society, its Directors, Officers, Agents, and Employees from and against any and all loss, damage, claims, liability, costs and expenses of any nature whatsoever, including without limitations, attorney’s fees and  disbursements, arising from or occasioned by my participation in the Adams County Humane Society Volunteer Program. 
    I understand there are certain risks of personal injury, death, disease and property damage in handling the animals and other volunteer activities on behalf of the Adams County Humane Society, and I accept those risks.
    I agree that the Adams County Humane Society may photograph my participation in the program and I hereby release any such photographs to the Adams County Humane Society for use in its programs, publications, and purposes.
    I agree that my status as partially approved does not mean I am approved to volunteer at Adams County Humane Society.  I understand that I am fully approved to volunteer at Adams County Humane Society once a background check has been approved and the required orientation has been completed.  I have read and fully understand the terms and conditions of the Volunteer Agreement and Waiver of Liability and I willingly comply with all its conditions.
