The Adams County Humane Society is 100% run on donations, fundraisers and adoptions. We need people like you to help with fundraisers, fostering, helping socialize animals and clean at ACHS. Each person who would like to volunteer will need to fill out a volunteer application. If the individual is 16 or 17 years old they would just need a release form filled out by a parent. Kids 15 and younger will need a volunteer form and release filled out as well as being accompanied by a parent of guardian at all times.
There are many areas we need your help in: * Volunteers to help clean in the mornings (1-4 hours) * Volunteers to help with data entry * Volunteers to walk dogs * Volunteers to help socialize dogs * Volunteers to socialize cats * Volunteers to help transport animals to and from the veterinarian clinics * Volunteers to help mow the lawn and other yard work * Volunteers to help snowplow, snow-blowing and shovel snow in the winter * Volunteers to help at fundraisers * Volunteers to help with maintenance around ACHS * Experienced Groomers willing to donate their time * Experienced dog trainers willing to donate their services
* We also need volunteer foster homes to help with underage kittens who need to be bottle fed or are eating on their own but need to wait several weeks before they are ready to be adopted. * We need experienced foster homes to help with nursing litters of puppies or puppies who need to wait a few weeks to a month before they are ready to find their loving forever homes. * We are looking for experienced people to foster and work with some shy dogs who need extra TLC to find a loving forever home.
