Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:
Maintain a friendly demeanor and provide good customer service while assisting with adoptions.
Work courteously and cooperatively with other staff members.
Typical office duties include but are not limited to answering the phone, returning phone calls, answering emails, filing paperwork, etc.
Filling in for other areas and performing other tasks/functions as needed, including helping out at special events.
Assist customers who are seeking lost pets, surrendering pets, and those interested in adopting. This includes responding to questions about specific animals, the adoption process, lost animal processes, etc.
Maintain accurate records related to animal case files, supply inventory, animal inventory, etc.
Specific Job Skills:
Good interpersonal, communication, customer service and time management skills are essential.
Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
Ability and initiative to work with minimal supervision and direction.
Maturity, good judgment and a professional personal appearance.
Ability to read, write and understand English required.
Treat people and animals with respect; contribute to effective teamwork; and foster public relations beneficial to the shelter and its programs.
