Dear Staff,
Hello! I want to thank you all for taking me into your shelter & taking care of me the week
before my new mommy & daddy took me home. I have been very busy since I came to my
new house. I have a nice yard & I love playing outside. I am doing great with my potty
training. I sleep in the crate about 8 hours every night (that makes mommy & daddy very
happy). I am a very good eater. I have grown a bit. I am 3 lbs heavier. Two weeks ago,
mommy & daddy adopted another shelter dog. She is a year old beagle named Chelsea.
She is my best friend we play all day long. She is teaching me some good stuff! Mommy &
Daddy take us to doggy obedience classes every Tuesday night. I have lots of fun. I hope
to come see you soon. I love my new home. I get lots of love & affection. I hope all the
dogs & cats in the shelter find good homes like Chelsea & I did. I am going to make a
donation to the shelter once a month to say thank you. Woofs & Kisses April
As you can see, the
adoption of kitten
(Daisy) went very
well. She was not at
all intimidated by our
100# Doberman or
our 105# German
Shepard. She is in
charge of both of
them Thank You!
Brenda & Eric
To All,
Daisy has been a great addition to our family.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff on making it all
possible! Daisy says hi! And happy Halloween!
Daisy is seen here with her new sister Princess and
her new dad.

Dear Friends,   11-5-07
Its been 4 months since I left you to come live with my new family. I am very happy and try
really hard to be good.I have a lot of room to run and the best part is I have a pond. I didn't
even know I could swim! I take walks where I'm expecting to "heel" or something. I sit and
lay down when my mom and dad say so. Did I mention I love to chew but, I learned I can do
that only on my toys. I live inside, I like to sleep in my special, but spend a lot of time
outside. My sister Briar Rose, a beagle, gets lots of time with mom and dad too and I'm
getting to know my cat friends. Thank you for suggesting me to my mom!

now that I've been adopted as of
June 5th 2008. All I cage, & so Hello,
I'm sure you remember me, Angel, I
was with you long enough , & I'm
sure glad you took care of many
windows to look out, & when I'm not
sleeping someone is either playing
with me or petting me. All I can say is
Life's good & I can only imagine its
only going to get better.  Thank you
again for taking such good care of
me & making sure I was given such

Hey guys!! I'm sure you all remember me, who could forget my adorable face.  Just wanted to let
you all know that I am doing great in my new home.  I love it so much.  I have lots of room to run
and lots of toys to play with. I listen really well to my new mom, but there are still a few things I
gotta work on. I especially gotta learn that I'm too big to be a lap dog. I love playing fetch with
Lexi and laying next to her on the couch when it is time to settle down. I sleep really well on my
pillow at night, I'm also an early riser which is a little hard on my mom, but she's getting used to
it and I'm learning to sleep a little later. Thank you for taking such good care of my while I was
with you guys and finding me a loving family. I'll keep in touch.
Love, ACE
Hi there!
Happy holidays to you all at Adams county Humane society!
It has been over a year now since I adopted my dog from you all - I
just thought I would send a couple of photos to you to let you know
how he is doing! His name with you was Shadow and then Skippy - I
adopted him on Oct. 1st 2007. His name is now Cooper - and he has
turned into the most beautiful and sweet dog you would ever hope to
meet.  He is extremely social - loves everyone - especially children.
He has several BFF neighbor dogs - one is a lab another a kind
Charles Cavalier spaniel.  He loves to go to the dog park, and he has
completed 2 training classes.  He ALMOST got his CGC - but failed the
separation piece.  (He loves me too much :) He gets along well with
my cats. I just wanted to thank you again for finding him and taking
such good care of him - and helping us meet.  it is like he was meant
to be a part of my family.
Happy holidays to all of you - God Bless!!

Dear Adams County Humane Society.
Here is an update on Ella. She has fit in so well at our house. She has
a closed in back yard that she runs and plays. She also runs in the
yard and has learned to stay away from the road. We have only had
her 8 days now and she has learned to sit, and shake. Sometimes she
forgets the shake part but she is learning. She also has been learning
not to go potty in the house. She has had a couple accidents but then
we go right outside and she knows. She has on had 2 accidents in the
house so we think that’s pretty good in 8 days. She loves to play with
balls and chase them. Oh yeah and she has learned to bring the ball
back already. So she is a very smart pup. We did keep her name Ella.
Everyone in our family loves her. My grandson had a bad first
impression with her. He is 8 months old and was sitting on the floor
and playing with toys and Ella had been outside when they got here.
When I let her in she is excited and ran right in the living room and
plowed my grandson over. We laughed and he cried but they all
survived. And she looks very good in pink with her new collar. She
also has 2 big pillows to sleep on but she prefers the end of the
couch. Or the big over stuffed chair we have. She is spoiled rotten
and we love her. I will enclose a few pics... Thanks again for the new
family member!!  Michelle ward and family
This is Miles soaking up the good life in LA with his perfect family.
Miles was with up back in 2006. He was running loose and very afraid
having to be Humane Society stepped in and helped us with him. They
put him in a wonderful foster care with this wonderful boy on his
journey on his way to is loving forever home.
Not sure what I would end up with. For some reason he touched my
heart and I took him home. It did not take him long to realize that I
wanted to be his friend and that he could trust me. We have for a day
or two he warms up to them and becomes a pest wanting attention.
His favorite things are going for walks, playing ball, playing with my
eight year old grandson, chasing squirrels, going for rides, and laying
by the wood stove when it is cold. Don't forget ear scratches and
belly rubs!!!! He is very "helpful", always has his big wet nose right
there to see what I'm doing. Thank you for all
Swissy came to us in Jan 2008.  Our other dog died and we were devastated,
but we know how a dog can enhance our lives.  We were going to wait 6
months before we while, but today she is the most beautiful and wonderful
dog anyone could have!  She Swissy came to us in Jan 2008.  Our other dog
died and we were devastated, but we doggie park and laying in the mud, so
Mom and Dad have no choice but to take her know how a dog can enhance
our lives.  We were going to wait 6 months before we got another baby but
lasted only 6 weeks!  Swissy was very shy and leery of Dad for a while, but
today she is the most beautiful and wonderful dog anyone could have!  She
doggie park and laying in the mud, so Mom and Dad have no choice but to
take her Winter will be a challenge.  She gets a daily walk and likes the fact
that Dad works out Winter will be a challenge.  She gets a daily walk and
likes the fact that Dad works out of the house, although she blows him off
until she wants part of his lunch...  The only downside about Swissy - she
snores."  We are Swissy's servants.
Lilly has been a great
addiction to our family.  My
daughter loves her. Thanks

Hello Staff, I just wanted to give you an update on how Hayden or
Jude is doing.  She loves to go on walks and play with her many toys.
She also loves to play with my nephew who is 3 years old.  She is
almost pottie trained, shes only had a few accidents.  She has also
gained about 2 pounds since we took her home.  She is Sincerely

Happy Endings
Hi!  Miss me?  I know I've only been at my new house for a couple of weeks, but I thought you'd all like to know that I love it here!
Mommy and Daddy keep saying I'm super-cute, and I already sit, lie down, and "stand" when they ask!  I'm a little escape artist, and
top of it.  I can't get over both of them.
I love to play with my big brother, Taylor, and when we're done playing we take naps together!  It's warmer that way, and we like it
cause we're little!  Mommy decided to get me a coat, cause I'm so little and she knows it's going to get cold out.  I wasn't the biggest
house, with my big brother. Love and kissies! -Abby  (Ava)
Here are a couple photos of Brandy in her new home! She loves going for walks, Milk Bone
treats, and sniffing the ground. She has been very well-behaved, and is now on friendly terms
with my Siamese cat.  She likes going for short car rides, also. I've taken her to the vet a
couple times. We thought she might have cancer - you can kind of see in this photo the stuff
hanging down in her belly. She has a growth in her mammary glands but we tested it and it
appears to be benign. She also tested positive for Lyme disease, from being loose in the
woods with ticks :( And she has a somewhat strong heart murmur. I'm not sure why your vet
didn't see the tumor in her mammary glands when she doesn't have cancer! I'm still a little
worried about that. She doesn't bark much, which I like. She only barks at men that come onto
the property.... maybe she was trained as a watchdog by her first owners, or possibly abused
somewhere along the way. I take her on 3 walks a day, so she is very spoiled! I'm glad she was
able to get out of the kennel and have a life in a home again :) Thanks for taking care of her
and paying attention to her while she was in your care, Ellen
Thank you to all at the Adams County Humane Society for caring for Onyx
(previously named Skooter).  I was able to adopt him in September of this year
and since then he has adjusted to his new forever home very well.  Onyx and I
enjoy our three daily walks as well as our hour of playtime every day in the park
next to my home. Onyx has made an incredible amount of friends here in
Milwaukee ranging from labs, to chows, to mutts, and rotweillers. There are at
least 13 other dogs that he has made friends with in the park and loves to play
with the other five dogs in my family.  He and I are working on several tricks and
he has become a very obedient trustworthy addition to my home.

Hello ACHS - Just wanted to give you an update on Tank the
pitbull we got from you last summer. Tank is doing great. He has
become best buddies with our other pitbull (Karmichal). Tank has
gotten quite spoiled since leaving his life on the streets. He is a
very happy dog and loves to play and chew up things. Thank you
again!!

Hello!!
Rondo here...you probably remember me as Hunter.  My parent's
(Mandy & Alex Beaumont) gave me the name Rondo since Alex is a
huge Boston Celtics fan! I've had such a great time in my new home;
I've learned a bunch of new tricks, am completely housebroken and
got to play with a bunch of dogs and cats - had such a great time!! The
vet says I'm really healthy and should get up to 50 pounds. Here are
some new photos of me, I'm getting close to 30 pounds already!
Thanks again for giving me such a great home, I'm loved very much
and am having a great time.  Rondo :)
Dear Adams County Humane Society,
It's been nearly a month since we adopted our cat from you and she has
quickly found a place in our home and our hearts. We spell her name
Purrecious now because she very readily and loudly purrs for all of us. It
did not take her long at all to adjust to our home and us. As you can see
from the photos attached, she loves to sleep on our laps and she was a
big help when it came time to wrap Christmas presents. She really is a gift
to us! Thank you so much for your work taking care of animals in need and
for helping us find this sweet new member of our family.
Happy Holidays from,
Tom and Jenna Oasen (and Purrecious)
Dear ACHS,
I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since I travelled north to the Adams Co.
Humane Society to pick up little Ms. V. Since that time she’s found a safe new
Cubby and Rozy; going out to visit her horse friends Trooper, Taz, Chance and
Tres but mostly being my completely devoted friend and constant companion. It’s
hard to imagine the day when she wasn’t sleeping with her head in my lap,
standing between the seats looking out the car window, running around exploring
when we’re out hiking or just following me around the house, making certain I’m
and that she has found a forever home. Our lives are richer now that we’ve found
each other and thank you for helping bring so much happiness into my life.
Take care and keep up the good work ~ Ann & Velma.
Greetings,
I just wanted to thank you for your great work and making it possible for us to have such a
wonderful new family member. On 9-29-09 I adopted a dog named "Stoner", a Gordon Setter.
He has turned out to be the best dog, very affectionate and he even is good with the cats
(although they've needed to adjust!)  Although spirited, he's doing really well on walks with a
leash and we've really enjoyed giving him lots of walks.  He is a big hit with all our friends and
family and we feel lucky to have him. Thank you for the important and wonderful work you do.
Our experience with you was so positive. All the best, Dave MacLeod
He no longer pulls hard on the leash when we go for our walks and is starting to come to us when
we call for him. We are extremely pleased to have him in our lives.
Thank you very much for allowing us to adopt him. Bob & Nancie Sprangers
